Proposed Amendments to the General Rules of the Republican Party of Texas - Amen

Amendment to General Rules of the Republican Party of Texas are to be addressed to the State Convention Rules Committee in both Temporary and Permanent Organization:

Amend Rule 8 to clarify that adoption of party rules at any organizational meeting shall be done by the process recommended by Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised, known as Consideration by Paragraph or Seriatim, except for the initial meeting of the SREC, but require that method be used at the First Quarterly Meeting of the SREC. 5. Amend Rule 8(i) to clarify that no county party rule for filling vacancies on the County Executive Committee shall prevent nominations from the floor.
