ELECTION INTEGRITY RESOLUTION - PAPER BALLOTS pct2055
Committee Voted Yes 4-0

WHEREAS, the basic element of a representative government lies within the citizens' ability to elect their representatives, and
WHEREAS, the integrity of that election lies within the integrity of citizens' election ballots, and
WHEREAS, recent manipulation of voting machines and procedures have been shown to compromise those ballots, and
WHEREAS, reliable recount procedures require a physical ballot,
BE IT RESOLVED, THEREFORE, that elections in Texas are valid only when they can be verified by a physical paper ballot, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these paper ballots be maintained by secure procedures for two years, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that criminal penalties be attached, and charges be brought against any person convicted of by-passing these requirements.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Senate
Convention Resolutions Committee from Precinct the
Republican Party, with the recommendation that it be passed and sent to the State Convention Platform Committee of the Republican Party of Texas.
