Committee Voted Against Approval-No

WHEREAS, the Constitution of the United States of America as amended by the second amendment says, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed," and

WHEREAS, opponents of gun rights shamelessly blame guns and not the user for gun violence, and

WHEREAS, their solution is to enact universal background checks, end online sales of guns and ammunition, and

WHEREAS, they propose holding gun manufacturers responsible for the use of their products, and

BE IT RESOLVED, THEREFORE, that we oppose any effort to deprive individuals of their right to keep and bear arms without due process of law, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we affirm the right of law-abiding Americans to carry firearms to protect themselves and their families, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we support firearm reciprocity legislation to recognize citizens' right to carry in all 50 states.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution

 ) Party, with the recommendation that it be passed and sent to the State

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be sent to the (Countv/Senate # X District) Convention Resolutions Committee from Precinct # (UI of the (County/Senate #X District) (Democratic/Republican) Party, with the recommendation that it be passed and sent to the State Convention Platform Committee of the (Democratic/Republican) Party of Texas.
