The Republican Party of Texas continues to support a call
for a Convention of States as called for in SJR 2, passed in the Regular
Session of the 85th meeting of the Texas Legislature, until such
time as the required number of states join Texas' application for an Article V
convention for the limited purpose of proposing one or more amendments to the
constitution to impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, to limit
the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and to limit the terms of
office of federal officials and members of Congress.
